Diving Overview
RomseySAC is a BSAC diving club that welcomes new and old members, qualified or non-qualified divers who wish to participate in scuba diving. RomseySAC is a collection of individuals the come together on a Tuesday for fitness, scuba training and to generally socialise. We typically dive at weekends and on holidays aboard.

Pool Closure 18th July - 8th September
The school have informed us that the pool is unfortunately going to be closed this summer from the 18th July right through to the 8th September. Watch this space for alternative activities.
RiB - In Use
The RiB is now in use for diving. Please consider organising a dive for the benefit of members; other members are available to assist or offer advice.
Diving - Porthkerris 18 - 21 Jul 08
Paul organised a diving trip to Porthkerris over this long weekend in July. A good time was had by the few of us that went, we had our own camping area virtually on the beach and weather was hot and sunny. The RiB shuttles to and from the dive sites were fast and efficient and the diving was very good even though the viz was not at its best.
Diving - Portland 27 Jul 08
Steven organised a dive trip out of Portland using the club RiB. Six members in all dived the British Inventor and the James Fennel. The weather was hot and sunny; the diving being a great way to cool down! The RiB performed admirably with the new engine transporting us all effortlessly to the dive sites. Those diving enjoyed the diving day and Andy's family waiting patiently eventually had a chance to sit in the RiB.
Diving - Portland 17 Aug 08
Another trip out on the RiB is planned for the 17th Aug. Currently all six places are taken.
Diving with Wightdiver
A few members have been booking evening dives through Wightdiver out of Portsmouth. This is an ideal way to get some additional diving in during the week aboard a sturdy hardboat with a lift. Check it out!
Lundy Diving
Trip is planned for Sep 08. Two places possibly available - contact Eric if you are interested.

BSAC Branch Development Workshop - 2nd April
Steven & Colin attended the branch development workshop with other representatives from BSAC clubs in the region. Key issues for clubs were discussed, SWOT analysis performed and action plans discussed. Ultimately it is up to the club but interesting discussions around training and diving collaboration was discussed in detail. The other main topic being attracting new members. Items from the workshop will be discussed at future committee meetings.
